Steiner, Rudolf
(27 feb. 1861, Kraljevic, Austria–30 mar. 1925, Dornach, Suiza).

Filósofo social y espiritual austríaco de origen suizo, fundador de la antroposofía. Editó las obras científicas de Johann W. von Goethe y contribuyó en la edición estándar de las obras completas de Goethe. Durante ese período escribió La filosofía de la libertad (1894). En sus investigaciones, llegó gradualmente a creer en una percepción espiritual independiente de los sentidos, a la que llamó "antroposofía, centrada en "el conocimiento producido por el más alto yo en el hombre. En 1912 fundó la Sociedad Antroposófica. En 1913 construyó en Dornach, Suiza, su primer Goetheanum, una "escuela de ciencia espiritual. En 1919 fundó una escuela progresista para obreros en la fábrica Waldorf Astoria, lo que condujo al movimiento internacional de la Escuela Waldorf. Otros escritos de Steiner son La filosofía de la actividad espiritual (1894), Bosquejo de la ciencia oculta (1913) y La trayectoria de mi vida (1924).
